A.R.I.S.E. Appalachia

Building a Just, Free, and Healthy Appalachia

Our Mission

A.R.I.S.E. Appalachia unites Appalachians to stand together for resilience, inclusion, and empowerment. Through advocacy, learning, and local action, we rise to build a future where every voice matters and every neighbor belongs.

A.R.I.S.E. Appalachia

From the ongoing fight for bodily autonomy to the struggle for immigrant justice, we confront the forces that threaten our neighbors, our communities, and our future. In Appalachia, these challenges are not abstract—they are felt in our clinics, classrooms, workplaces, and homes. Policies that restrict healthcare access, criminalize immigrants, and silence marginalized voices do real harm to real people. We believe everyone deserves the right to make decisions about their own body, live without fear, and have a voice in the systems that shape their lives.

Our work is rooted in Appalachian values of resilience, care, and solidarity. We organize, educate, and mobilize our community to stand up against injustice and demand a more inclusive, equitable future. Through advocacy, voter engagement, community events, and direct action, we bring people together to create meaningful change at the local and state level. We partner with grassroots organizations, faith leaders, healthcare advocates, and community members to ensure that no one is left behind.

Together, we take action to create an Appalachia where everyone is safe, valued, and free—regardless of race, immigration status, gender, or economic background. When we stand together, we are stronger. Our collective voice has the power to protect our rights, uplift our neighbors, and build a future where dignity, justice, and freedom are not privileges, but promises for all.
